Main Info

As SHE Likes It is running Female Empowerment Workshops alongside the show, that are designed to address the issues in the play, being an advocate for change. For more information about the theatre performance please visit the event page on our website.

The workshops will be run by two of the cast/drag kings, and are designed to empower womxn and non-binary people, using mental health, drag and comedy techniques, i.e., taking on the physical stance of famous womxn in history.

We’re also working alongside a fight coordinator, who will teach us some basic self-defence moves to end the workshop on. We’re having consultations with our dramatherapist to ensure workshops offer a safe and inclusive space, and we are working with LGBTQ+ charity Out in the Bay, to ensure wording of workshops are trans-inclusive. We’d be targeting womxn, and non-binary people aged 16-30 (max 30 participants).

Aims of the workshop:
1. Help participants to recognise inappropriate behaviour whether it’s in the workplace, school, or other settings.
2. Discuss ways to tackle any issues safely, comfortably and appropriately in different settings.
3. Teach some basic self-defence moves in a fun and relaxed format.

Please bring along water and wear comfortable clothing for movement.
